Thanks for all the comments guys, the spokes didn't look too bad so I cleaned and polished them, mainly because I will be pulling the wheels down after the bike has been on the road for a while to rechrome or powdercaot and then I will replace with stainless, was sort of tossing up whether to have chrome or painted rims so clean them up for now finish the build and should be able to decide from there.
Cheers Sean.

Cheers for that, it's nice to hear as I have subscribed to your 350 build thread. That engine is looking great. ;)
It's hard not to follow when you do crafty repairs and quality work :) Keep it up sir!

hot here again so I roughly sanded the seat pan this morning, nothing to see there, but I have polished a few little things up and starting on the forks, check out the difference from old, to old and polished :p
axle caps,

legs are almost ready to hit the buff, what a bugger they are to prep for polishing.

Great work! I'm doing a budget build on a CL350 right now and you have made me realize that it's completely possible to bring life to old stuff with just a little elbow grease. Keep it up! Cheers.

I will agree!! Ive seen some amazing work on the site from new builders, using a limited budget! Never let anyone tell you your work isn't quality, great job!

Yep cheapest white vinegar I could find for the chrome, and wet and dry 320 grit first then 400, 600 finish with 1200 and then on the 6 inch buff wheel for the alloy parts.
Man I should send you my stuff.

Cheers Matt, gave the forks a polish,

And one piece of mesh fitted 21 more to go,

Not quite sure which way I want to go with the front fender yet,

to chop or not to chop??? :-\

So time to get the seat mounted I guess, so I baught some door seal to sit ontop of the frame rails to act as a bit of a buffer between the seat pan and the frame, ;)

decided to ditch the side covers, so I cleaned brackets from the frame before adding the pan for the electrics,

picked this up yesterday for $150,
DSC00732_zpsfc36f04d.jpg

it came with these which are what I needed for the 350 as it had 900F shocks on it, now on the 400 as in picture.

should clean up well, just covered in chain oil and petina :D

engine turns over and as you can see it has no front end and a broken rear shock mount, looks like I might have to build a monoshock 400F with an USD twin disc front end ;)

Nice find! I could use the carb set for my 350F project which has none. Let me know if you'd like to sell em. Following your build man, will be a cool beast once finished as your spending quality time on the details. I'd chop that front fender with a vengeance!!

Cheers Kemp, will let you know about the carbs, I'll see if the guy that I got this from has a spare set aswell, going to pick up an extra bottom end off of him that he threw in. ;)

Also done a bit on the frame, removed the footpeg mounts,

and found this on both sides,
DSC00711_zpsa2ef7ad1.jpg

so I filled them with some weld,

thaught I would get rid of these ugly arse spot welds and mount holes for the original seat catch,

so filled those aswell,
