1973 Honda 350 Super Sport - $750

Holy tamole, this dude is serious. Third picture looks like there's a Black Bomber and a Ducati 851. I gotta meet this guy. Did you get papers for the 350? What does it need?

HOLY CRAPOLA! Look at all of those boxers!

Fugue, congrats on getting a vintage bike! What needs to be done with it? What are your plans for it? Are you going to make it look like a new school ducati cafe racer? Awesome!

Hey Mikey!!.. Congrats Dude!!... We all cant wait to get our hands on it!!.. LOL!!.. ;D... I think our first wrenching party will be at your place!!..

Well, the deal is done and I have another bike in my garage. She's gonna take some work, but she's pretty clean overall, and everything is there. Hopefully I'll be able to get her up and running without major surgery, though I am rather optimistic about that. I'm a happy guy.

That said, now we get to the cool stuff... I mean, really cool!!! The fellow selling the bike is an older gent who really loves his bikes. His collection is HUGE! He has a separate, heated, 2 FLOOR!!! garage to keep his bikes in. It was like walking into a bike museum. He had some great stories to tell, including how he took 1st in the amateur class at Daytona 6 years ago on a GP bike. The man can ride! It was really amazing to chat with him and his friend for an hour or so, and examine the bikes in his 'shed'. I actually remembered to bring my camera and snapped a few pics. (In my excitement, I never took any of the 350, but it's in my garage now, so that's easy.)

Enjoy!

PS. He is looking to get rid of a Suzuki T20 (250cc 2-stroke) and the totally mint BMW R75/6 thats in one of the pics below.
PPS Scarcat, the dude is a huge BMW fan, and there were tons of NSU's in there too... including a prima scoot which I think you will appreciate, considering our earlier adventures... and a Laverda triple which is completely insane.

I had a T20 Suzie back in 1971, I used to have a riot blowing off 650 beezers and trumpets at the lights and watch them
choke on my two stroke exhaust. I ported it and upped the back sprocket four teeth, the power band was about as wide as Paris Hilton's attention span, but there wasn't much that could touch it 0-60 short of a 500 kawasaki.

Thumper

Did he say how much for the R75/6? Looks just like mine :) and I have friends who want my bike.

Now that I think of it, I think I've spoken to this guy a bit. Have to dig back to remember what it was about.

Yeah Tintin, you've probably met him. He's in with the CVMG crowd for sure. The red ducati is an 888 superbike in minty shape with all the trimmings - sick fast! And yeah, I'm pretty sure that was a bomber in the corner as well DrJ... I can't recollect everything with clarity as there was just so much cool stuff there.

Yes that was a CBX... he sold another CBX a couple weeks back apparently, and has someone begging him to buy that CBX as well. I don't know how much he wants for the R75 or T20. The T20 is a cool bike indeed... a friend of mine restored one over the last year. Going to try to get him to join our little group next year when he gets it on the road.

As far as the 350, yes he found the papers for the bike. Just have to go to the ministry next week and pay my taxes. The bike itself is very stock. Needs work. The paint is faded and chipped, but very little rust. Rear tire is good, but I will probably change it anyway as it's probably a little old. Everything needs to be tightened down and cables adjusted. I'll likely have to replace the fork gaiters, but there's no rust on the forks that I can find. Needs to be shined up, and I'll have to clean the carbs and get her started before I know more. Motor rotates freely, but it's not running yet. Will take a bit of elbow grease and get her running first, and then I'll start to focus on making her all pretty. It's going to be fun.

New rule in effect - noone is allowed to tempt me with more bikes, ok? With 3 project bikes on the go now I have no more room in the garage!!! ;)

Fugue, I'd like to see it sometime. I may have a pair of gaiters lying around. If you need any other parts let me know.

wow, congrats mike on a fine purchase, awesome bikes he has ,i think i saw a 450cl in red, please keep noel and his turn outs away from your 350,it'll make a fine cafe,

DrJ, feel free to drop in anytime... actually, that goes for anyone in the area. Speaking of which... I may actually have to host a wrenching party in my garage at some point. Good idea Noel.
I am hoping to have FZR motor #1 buttoned up this weekend, and then maybe I'll take a couple before pictures so my teardown will be documented. Merry Christmas!
