1974 CB360 Beach

DC74inc

Come on in and sit on it.
This thing came in a wreck. A half engine covers missing, spider infested barn bike to a pretty clean cikle. I've gone through 3 tanks, 3 rebuilds and it's finally aproaching something whole. Anyways here is the thread for the remainder of the build. Enjoi. Right now I am in the process of engine painting a carb rebuilding.. oh boy. Next will be an interesting and exciting leather seat upholstery done by a local san diego leather smith in Ocean Beach. At one point this bike was going to be a jockey shifter and maybe someday it will be. Please comment as much as you want!

Are those beach bars 7/8"? I dig them a lot, but more importantly, I want a set for a future project. Please do inform me a little more on those bars, great little project so gar.

Man I LOVE that frame color, I want to do something like that someday with a chop or a bob. The handle bars are pretty damn cool too, ride like a fat tire bike. ;)

i like beach bars but to make them work i have a feeling a low seat pan would be required... never know

i have this vision of like, a guy delivering milk in those super old skool white jump suits, and the vintage styling of those old side car delivery bikes... lol almost nerdy because you'd be sittin up with those beach bars coming back like that. it seems to be a bicycle inspired thing.

I like the idea, it'll be a path less traveled for sure.
Where did you get your hands of bars like that?

Keep this on the DL... they are 35$ anodized beach cruiser handle bars and you can find them online from speciality stores that sell bars. They feel like they could take a beating and you save 70 dollars. :D

PS if you mount them upside down and spot weld the steering tab on the front to remove 3/4in from the travel they look like the craziest clubmans you'be ever seen, REALLY badass...

I guess like the old flat track bikes which I love so much.

Went down to Chula Vista with my boss, like walking distance to the San Diego Mexico border and bought a few square yards of some rugged looking cow hide leather and have learned to hand stitch leather on youtube, (bizzare double needle technique) and popped out this great looking seat.

I have yet to rivet the leather to the bottom of the seat pan, that will stretch the leather neatly over the high density foam. The leather was 56 dollars well worth it, I highly recommend buying and playing with leather if you have been down that path yet, it is spiritual.. and then the foam was four dollars, the seat pan is a lightly modified stock seat pan.

Built the engine tonight for the CB360 Beach Crusier. Mocked it up with the Triumph 650 Bonneville Pipes. I really like how they sweep up. They should be parallel to the rear subframe tubes as far as the up drafted angle.

Holy shit man I love those pipes! They would be perfect on my track CL350! Did you make them do the up swept motion? Or did you buy them like that? I really really want some!!

haha! they are stock triumph bonnevile pipes, the headers on a 650 bonneville acount for the bend in the muffler and therefore make them straight but raised, if they are mounted on any other header, they just fly back like 30 degrees and its awesome.. ALSO they were relatively cheap like 50-60 and are in great condition with a cool pedigree.

all aroudn looks fantastic! typically i hate motors that are all shot in one color... but this plays it off well with the allens!

Very cool stuff, man. I dig the bars, and the motor with those pipes looks fantastic.
