1974 CB750 Built from Parts w CBR600 Front & Rear

I completely agree.

It works on my rig because the virago was an 18 I believe and I am running a tire on my 17" front end that is somewhat tall.

Great work on the bike. I have have a 1997 cbr front end in my basement doing the same thing. I am going to run a waterproof gps for my speedo. Keep up the great work.

I see we both have an attraction to aluminum and a supply of free scrap.

Don't be afraid of the CBR Front. It also uses the same bearing size as the CB750. Just needs the Stem Swapped due to length.

Free is always best. LOL I can't wait to get some time to work on my bike, between College and work not much free time. Looking forward to seeing your bike as it transforms.

As posted earlier, the tank was a copy (by Dicks Cycle West of the 70's) of a JapAuto "Street" version of thier "Race" tank. The Street version having the pocket in the end to accept the Original Equipment Seat. I like my use for an oil tank better.

That bike has some sick parts on it

Since I am on the home stretch with my other build I should be able to get back to this one. I picked up a seat from Roc City, the "Interceptor" model.

Frankenfe, this bike is going to be insane! I love that tank and great job on the oil tank as well!!! Also your black CM400 is a sexy little beast as well.

Not trying to be a pain, but I'm a little disappointed you are going with a fiberglass seat pan. It is your build and you have the vision, do with it what you will. I just see this thing as a custom one-off build needing a custom one-off seat pan haha. Your bikes are gorgeous, keep up the good work. One of these days (SOON!) when I get the CX on the road I'll head down to your neck of the woods to hang out for a bit.

Have you started to figure out chain alignment? I too am using a CBR600 rear wheel and a 750 swing arm and was wondering if you had any insight to the spacers and pairing of these two bikes..

Glad you're able to pick up this project again. I love to watch "design as you go" projects. Great work so far!

Thanks B4, Backshed and Wango...

B4, basically Wangofree answered your question for now about the chain alignment. "Design as I go" or probably a closer description is ...Design and Redesign and Adapt and Change as I Need ......with a lot of standing and staring at in between.

I fully expect I will need an offset sprocket and some machining to the sprocket hub to make it work....when I'm there.

Not Much sorry to say, been finishing up the CM400 and the CB550 then I can get back to it exclusively.....unless I find something els I gotta have / build.

Frankenfe, Where you been man? We are excited to see this thing come together! I haven't mad much progress on my bike at all besides riding it around a bit in its current form. I'm probably going to get an exhaust bent up, build a seat and change where the battery is going so that I can ride 2up. I want to do a removabe cowl type seat so that I can still go for the cafe look. I wouldn't mind if it just ends up looking like a tracker too though. Hope all is well with you and your family man!

Unfortunately I have to abandon this project.

The Fuel and Oil Tank combo $350 obo Shipped 48 States

Not because it wasn't "Doable", already had the harder issues worked out / done.......Cause I have too many projects and not enough time and money.
