hey guys

i'm trying to get a feel for how much i should sell my bike for.
i'm not actually selling it just yet but i want an honest opinion on how much i should sell it for
when the time comes.

it still needs a lot of TLC but i know the potential.

biggest problem, it needs a title :-\

i worked on getting it running rather than its appearance, it definitely needs to be taken down to the frame.

as of right now, it needs:
Exhaust pipes
Rectifier
some tank work (i put a patch panel over a dent and just put primer over it to keep it from rusting)
and it will need paint

it does run now but you can't ride it anywhere, it runs really lean and idles around 3500 rpm.

everything else on it works except the headlamp, i think its just burned out.

if you want pics, you'll have to wait.
i'm working on getting better ones posted.
i may even put a vid on youtube.

don't take this as harsh at all but i bought mine in better shape for 200$ but your bike as it sounds my guess would you would do good if you got 300-400 out of it. although i may be way off base.

Where you live really matters when guessing a price. Try scanning Craigslist.org for your city for comparables.

I got my '75 CL360 a year ago not too far from the Columbus, Ohio area. It had a clean title, low miles, was very dirty, and needed tires, but it could have been ridden home as is. Paid $375 and thought I didn't do too bad.

IMHO your biggest problem is the lack of title; that relegates it to parts bike status unless it's exceptional and worth the hassle of jumping through the hoops to get a title. Just my opinion, though.

post some pics up and lets have a look..

Ive been selling cb360T here, build after build, and they have been selling between $2500 - $3200. I cant keep them, "in stock" long enough... and I have people emailing me asking me to keep them in the loop as to when the next one will be ready for sale...

Just a few tips...if you want to sell it for some good coin, make it look pretty and sexy...

MOst of the guys here on this forum wont spend more than $500 on a bike cuz we know how to build and work them.

A lot of people coming from the sport bike world & Scooter world are used to spending between $5K-$10K on a ride. So to them, a sexy cafe racer that runs and is dependable, looks great and carries a certain "image", is definatly worth over $2K...

Just know your market and advertise it in the right places...

just my 2 cents...

That's a great point about the target audience. If someone wants a first bike, a learning/daily rider, then a pretty Honda Twin is a great buy.

well, i notice bikes go for more or less in areas. in the milwuakee/chicago area your bike could fetch easily 500 in a weekend, with a little tlc and spit n shine, maybe an extra hundred. i would really look at the classifieds/for sales on simular bikes. and also- if everything is reversable to OE condition is a big sellpoint too, and having most of the stock parts.

I agree in a way with you but at the end of the day, you target your audience and sell a vision & image. No matter what area you live in, there are always people who will spend big bucks to buy not just a bike, but an image, comradreship and a support group.

Even here in Toronto, I can pick up a $400 cb360 almost any day of the week but the crowd who will spent the money usually dont want a project bike or the risk of getting a "money pit", or wont usually buy a cheap bike just to leave it at a bike shop with a "blank cheque"...

At the end of day, no matter where you live or whats avaliable in the local market, you sell a particular value proposition, and there will always be buyers.

hell, i probably see if i can trade it for an engine for my truck....

i'll take whatever :p
as long as i get the $200 back in parts
