1974 Honda cb350 F (P's & Q's) Build.

I like it. Looking forward to seeing pics of it all buttoned up.

I know how you feel about waiting on replies. It is always a drag to sign on and see your build on the 3rd page with no "new" icon ;D

Haha yeah. Its like I go through all this effort to have pics taken, re-size them, upload them to photobucket, and post them here and hardly anyone responds or gives insight. Not trying to be a prude but I'll see threads where the user shows an update of taking off his stock seat and he'll get 50 replies. Haha, O well, Im just doing this for myself anyway :)

Well I will post a reply, the bike is coming along nice dude, and I really like the splash guard and graphics idea.
Looking forward to more progress pics.

;)

Beefy.

Throw the seat on and take a shot of the whole bike if you can. That should give us all a better idea of that splash guard. It does look pretty rad though, nice work!

Splash guard is sweet, looking like a very clean build, looking to do a similar project in the very near future....So show us what it looks like all done

Hey thanks guys! Its alot more fun to update this when I know people are following. Well heres my seat. I got those pics you requested with the addition of the stitched seat put on. Im not sure how I feel about the seat, as it may be a bit too bulky for my tastes. Now for the overall looks of the seat, it looks a lot better in real life, and mind you the seat isnt bolted down entirely giving it a look like its higher up in the front. Once its bolted down it will look flush. The stitching also looks tons better IRL. Most of the standout mistakes you can pinpoint with the threading is an illusion. Tell me what you guys think if you wouldnt mind.

Your bike is looking awesome. Nice job. I like the white and the pin-up girl graphic. I like the seat - give your ass a break! ;)

Started her up for the first time last night, purrs like a kitten even without the sensors hooked up. Travis changed a few things, and some more work needs to be put in tuning wise, but she is pretty much buttoned up minus a break rebuild kit we are waiting on to come through the mail.

Heres a few pics:

And heres a freaking WW2 TANK my builder is working on. He's using the original cafe seat I purchased for my bike, but quickly gave it up:

looks great!
i hope my little 350f could come close to what u have some day. Love the pin-up splash. Great work!

Hello everyone, I was the builder of this little Honda CB350F. It was a lot of fun to build the little racer for my friend Drew. I just found this thread and thought I should give you guys some pictures of the final appearance. She turned out to be a really sweet ride that turns heads everywhere we have taken her both in Houston and in Corpus Cristi TX.

If anyone is interested in my work or any individual pieces I make for this project, just send me a PM or email me directly. Thanks for having a look. I hope everyone enjoyed seeing it being built as much as I enjoyed the process of putting her back together. Later Travis

We got rid of the nasty rusty aluminum covers on the forks and replaced them with vintage rubber gaitors. A;sp changed fork oil and seals:

Hey man, stumbled across your build and loving it. Went thru every page! haha I'm digging your gaiters, where'd you get those? Also, did you have to do anything special to get them to fix on the bike after removing the aluminum covers?

So sorry for posting on such a long "dead" thread, but hey - this thread was obviously once a very juicy viewing experience, and could be once again - it just needs all of these pic links updated! I hate to be so demanding, but it's not an unreasonable request, is it? I mean, pics are hella useful as a reference, but if their links are all dumped then the whole thing becomes useless and might as well be edited right out of the site, if not as whole threads then at least the posts on an individual/collective basis.

I only mention it because this thread was so obviously very very JUICY as a Bike-Porn source AND as a reference for other builders & modders .... which is to say, I don't mean to come off as a nag or a prig,

Aw, screw it - I'm already on a roll! So here goes -

Threads full of a ton of pics are very useful, but could also use a bit of descriptive narrative, especially when the pic links dry up.

Of course, there isn't a heck of a lot of encouragement for descriptive narrative in forum posts! Heck, people crap on me all the time about posting "overly long" text, ie paragraphs or even gawd forbid ESSAY style posts. Folks who have long scrolling signatures which follow every "Yup" and Mmm-Hmm" comment, which probably adds up to a hell of a lot more "weight" of text posted overall - especially if measured in inches of screen pages scrolled. AND there are those here who would dump on me for digging up a "Necro Post" 'cause this thread isn't being currently discussed. (By anybody other than ME, that is - and only for the moment, should we be given the chance!)

But wtf people, posts on these forums serve as a REFERENCE - I'm sure there are those who would prefer it that only they and a few other GURU types would serve as the go-to-answer for the myriad of questions folks might have - But I for one like to use the SEARCH function, and to dig up stuff that's interesting or even relevant for the build I'm working on.

It isn't ONLY a Social Network for Café Racer enthusiasts! Nor is it MY own Manifesto/Confessional, OR an ego wank for self appointed moderators who love to shit on the noobs and discourage new projects let alone innovative ones. (Textbook definition of a Troll is the creep under the bridge who wouldn't let them Gruff-Goats cross, notwithstanding Usenet moderators' misspelling of the long-line fishing operation known as TRAWLING!)

So let's all please ENCOURAGE the "necro-posting", updates of juicy Bike-Porn links in promisingly useful reference threads, text-based description, and above all the NOOBS while we're about it?

Call it a pre-emptive rant. Ha-ha. But yeah - I just love me a cute lil' CB350F Café - So can we please have an update to some of these pic links? I can literally SNIFF how juicy the Bike-Porn's gonna be - there's STANK oozing out between those broken links......

-Sigh.
