Here is my first shot at a custom build. To my donors credit it was a flawless under 3K bike when I bought it.

here's a few more pics. I cut off all the un needed bungs and brackets and stretched the swing arm 4 inches.

Does she seem to run pretty good ? Have you made any changes to the carbs?

"runs" super! Carb rebuild kit I ordered came with smaller jets than stock and that seemed to be a good match to the open baffled exhaust and pod air filters. I do seem to be having a charging issue however. it is not putting out quite 12 volts. ?? still looking for culprit

How bout some build pics???

what do you got in there 100 main secondaries?
w a top speed about 70mph and getting real lean ? Be careful you dont burn valves up.

If your checking voltage at the battery on idle it may be a little under 12. Rev her up tween 3 -5000 and see what you got 13-14volts. Shes running as intended by honda.

also, I have never ridden without a brace\fender. but guys who have will tell you to install one. These little forks are pretty light and will flex at the seals.

She does look good. (sorry I am not the biggest fan of that seat setup) BUT If you like it...I LOVE it. I think youve done a nice job cleaning her up.

If you cut and re-welded the arms of the swing to gain the stretch. ( As most do) I would sure keep a close eye on it for cracking. As in, inspect it closely EVERYTIME you ride. That is not how I stretched mine. Personally, I wouldnt ride her like that. But, I dont know anything about it. Again, its your ass, if you like it, I love it.

The forward control setup is cool. I dont think I have seen that on a 360 before. Does it provide plenty of rear braking power?

So, overall, if I saw it parked in the lot. I would walk over...I think its cool and fun to look at.

I am most impressed w the fit you got on that rear fender...its awesome!
and if guys want to pick on the amount of rear travel you got...(Im guessing) 2+ inches..
Ive got about 2.5 and have never bottomed out. Ive had mine airborne atleast 4 times. flying over rough ass railroad crossings, bridge approaches and 1 big Raccoon. Im in Illinois...not famous for smooth roads.

However my front fender is dented...from the headlight bottoming out on it. I have since raised my headlight up a bit. Even if you add a fender, Yours wont have that problem.

Sorry, no build pics. I may have some before somewhere will have to look. This project has been over three years in the making I always try and have several projects in the shop to keep my mind distracted from the drama life throws at me(pics of my next project(s) is attached). I really am a busy guy! I honestly don't know what size the jets are, was a generic rebuild kit I bought on Amazon, no instructions or explanations included. The holes in both sets of jets were noticeably smaller though. The front fork advice is a new one for me, anyone else have same advice for me? I do appreciate the kind assessment of my build Trek97. This is my first older cycle and am not used to mechanical speedo and tach, but tach is not real responsive. (?) It will eventually catch up to what I expect is engine rpm, but not real quick to respond. Thoughts? The way the rear fender turned out did please me as well. Simply used a trailer fender and 1/4" round stock and collars to build the struts. To much travel was an issue initially, first ride put a scratch in my new paint were it bottomed out. I put a 3/4" collar between the spring and the adjuster to stiffen up and reduce travel. For the swing arm I used a heavier gage tubing inserted into the length of each side with same outside diameter tube outside. Then in addition to welding the seams also punched several holes front and back in bottom of each side and welded rosettes, should be pretty durable. The forward control set is from TC Bros and was designed to fit a CB750, I welded up a frame down-tube extension and tee to accept it. Plenty of braking power front and rear!

Found my charging problem! I had the stator plug and the rectifier plug reversed! oof! so happy that was an easy fix! now for the fuel mixture issue. According to all the signs (backfires, black soot in exhaust pipes, runs worse when it heats up) I have compared to the manuals I have it seems to be running rich. as I said before the rebuild kit I used had visibly smaller main jets, so any advice I can get on getting it tuned would be great!!

My bike easily hits 85 and would go more. But, its too scary for me to go any faster. So I have no idea what its top speed is.
