1975 GL1000 Cafe Racer Mean Green.

Here is one of my gl1000's. It is a 1975. I threw this together about 10 years ago, and it gets a lot of attention. I built the original version of the bike along time before folks were doing this to these. It has always been a head turner.

I love the 'destructicon' color scheme! The decepticon decal gave it away. ;)
Wow, I had never put the color to the destructicons. Was just some cool rattlecan I found at the parts store. But you are right.

WoW!
Here I thought I was a trendsetter and you been way ahead of me! Nice!

I also have a 79 1000 dresser. I wanted a racer, cruiser, and a tourer all made from the same machine to show just how versatile it really is.
Ironically the Dresser has a split, autobot/ Decepticon logo on it. It is the rogue of the bunch. I have done more work to these bikes since the pics have been took. Always tinkering on them.

Here is a link to some pics of the bikes, they are from last summer.

NIce bikes, I like all 3. I know what you mean about versitility of these bikes. They can be many different bikes all in the one package with just a few changes. I have a 79 GL1000 that is set up moslty like a standard but with some cafe inspired bits for now, But in 5 minutes I can add a screen and backrest, saddle bags and she is a touring bike.

Welcome to DTT.

Thanks. Glad to be here.

Really like that scoop below the radiator on Green.
I have seen something similar on e-bay and wondered how it would look, wish I'd have bought it now.

The scoop was left over from her dresser days. When I first got her 15 years ago I went and bought EVERY piece of chrome for a 1000 and a 1100 that would fit a 1000. Needless to say I pulled off and threw away alot of chrome about 6 months later. But the air damn went with the racer look. They are worth a small ransom now a days. Gotta love ebay.

some killer stuff there man! just awesome loving what is being done to the GL's lately i have 2 1100 builds going now, one is 99% done the other is about 50%
