Picked up my headers from the shop today. The ceramic coating isn't an exact match for my polished stainless expansion chambers, but I don't think they look too bad. The ceramic coating also shouldn't turn ugly colors like chrome does after a bike's been run. It was very reasonable too, only $50 for both head pipes.
Only the"U" bend coming out of the head is the ceramic coating (cermachrome), the rest is polished:
Have a spare set of freshly black zinc plated Mikuni dual carb linkage. PM me if you're interested, the Titan is looking great, can't wait to see a pic of you riding it.
That bright red is going to look great with all the polished alloy !
When we refurbed the side panel "500" badges, Tim found a ladies nail polish that matched the original glittery orange paint....once laquered over it looked perfect 1
Finished wiring up the lights. Now everything works but the horn, the replacement for the dead stock part is on order. I decided to mount the rear indicators on the upper shock mounts. I hate having them at all, but at least they're fairly inconspicuous.
Tail light:
It finally stopped raining so I rolled her outside for a few pics. Still cloudy though, so the pics aren't the greatest:
The tail is sagging a bit in these pics because it's just tacked on with the rear two bolts. I ran into a clearance issue when I mounted the tail. Nothing major, I just need shorter front bolts and change the order that I assemble a few pieces in. These things are like 3d jigsaw puzzles sometimes.
I can't wait to see it running myself! I need to finish polishing the engine covers, top off the crankcase oil, bleed the injector system, and put gas in it. In theory, that's all it needs to fire.
To ride it...a bit more than that. Brake and clutch cables need to be shortened, speedo sensor mounted etc. Still, all the big items are checked off the list. Now it's the little detail stuff.
I've got a hair under 2 weeks to finish it before Rockers Reunion Indy.
