1977 Suzuki GS550 cafe racer build.

Hi there fellow ton-ers! I seen this bike on craigslist for $800 bucks. I told the guy I could trade him a gun for it ($375-450 value) and he agreed!! Strait up traded me and I have a budget of $900 to sink in. So here is the bike before:

It had good compression, And even kick started on the third kick after the guy drove it on a trailer over 100 miles when he delivered it! Still needs a ton of work, but I'm up to it.

Stripped her down naked and took of the extra junk/wieght.

These carbs need help. Should have em rebuilt in no time!

Plus got some O rings for the main boots to the head to. Might as well replace them anytime carbs are rebuilt.

yeah I seen the post! I'vee been too busy with fork seals, new tires,painting, bondoing small dents, ect for the last month I have not got a chance to post pics until now!

New tires, fork seals and fork paint and polished rear drum. Used engine enamel on the forks
cause last time My CB got some chips after a couple years.

First mock up with new tail light. I cleaned up and painted the original rear fender satin black. The bars are "euro" that I bought from CRConlinecatalogue. I ended up not liking them and have some Norman hyde "M" bars on the way!

Got some "M" bars from Norman Hyde and painted the controls. Also have the rebuilt carbs back on the bike!!! Just wondering what to do with the tank: 1.Leave as is, wet sand and clear. 2. add some stripes or some other design. 3. repaint to silver. ??? Cant make up my mind. :-\

Here she is so far now. Got the pea shooters on and tuned the carbs a bit more. The weather has been cold and then hot windy back and forth so I cant wait for a stable week. I may make a video of ridding it cause I have a small camera that goes on my helmet!!
