DTT members,
I am embarking on a cafe project with my 78 550K. The 78 has the flap on the fuel tank that I dont think is as aesthetically pleasing as the chrome filler cap that other models/model years have. Does anyone know what models/model years tanks will fit on a 78 550K with no (or very little) modification?
Also, I am hoping to have the tank in bare metal. Im planning to strip the paint using Aircraft stripper; can anyone recommend a good method for prepping the bare steel tank and a good clear coat that will prevent rusting?
