Still going, I promise!
Sent a few bits up to Sydney with my good mate Tim (actiont888) to get sand blasted and powder coated. I havnt seen the parts myself yet, but the pics suggest that everything is looking bloody good.
Sandblasting done:
Parts that are getting powdered black (nice pic of Tim's ugly mug too):
Parts that are getting powdered silver/grey:
A big thank you to Tim, Mitch and their Uncle, this is a massive favour they are doing for me and I am ever so grateful.
While I wait for the powdered bits I figured I'd better start getting to work on the parts that bolt straight to the frame. I used some of that septone rust converter stuff and to my suprise it does an amazing job!!! all of the bits in the tub started off looking as rusty as each other, some parts responded quicker as you can see. I'll leave them to soak over night.
What started out as playing with some sheet aluminium and my new pop rivet gun ended with a nice battery box. Since I cant weld I thought this was a neat alternative.
yes its ugly and wonky, but I kind of like it, i will neaten it up a bit and bash it into a more symetrical shape, but it will be good I reckon.
new goal: I will try and have a roller by the end of this month
