Hmmm...I see my proof reading skills leave something to be desired. Anyway here's some pics of some other bits on the bike. The brakes all came apart, just like the forks, swing arm, rear drive, rebuilt the shocks. Pretty much everything except the engine. The reassembly I'll start next week.
As is evident I half-assed the frame just to get it together to haul it down for dad to see, so It'll get done properly later. Here's the end of the pipe that's been drilled and gutted inside...should have some bark to it, we'll see. And the 29mm carbs stuffed in and the intake setup best I could get...It's looking from under the seat from the battery box towards the front. there's not a lot of room in there to take pics. It takes up half of the battery space so I'm using a small Oddessey.
Pics are looking pretty cool. Starting to piece them together in my mind to try and work out what this bike looks like... ! Im guessing its super sport like?
You've certainly got a no-compromise red and black theme going there!
Looks like a K&N youre running there... hows it working for you? Does it attach directly to the stock manifolds?
Dale, Can't let the cat out of the bag yet...It's still in "mock-up" as you can see fuel and brake not hooked up. I just had to make sure dad saw it back in one piece. Those are the stock MkIII manifolds mated up to the carbs with an adapter(they're just a bit bigger than the MkI/II). For the other side I turned down the stock intake stacks on the carbs to fit the K&N with silicone elbows...yeah that mess took a week to sort out lots of ideas and trial and error! Ahhh the joys of customization...
Here's the rest of my flock...My Daily rider...Antonietta(priceless in Italian)she's like and old friend and fits like a glove. We become one on the road and have seen a lot of miles together. My living room queen...anybody want a coffee table? I have one in the garage now. They are 2 of 100 available in the US in '87. And the newest member, Mia (wished for child in Italian) 1of I think 80 available in the US in '96. Anyone see a common connection here? Other than the fact that I name my bikes.

Great to see another v 50 getting a second life and nice work on the build thus far! The parts are looking great. I notice you also refinished the plug on the oil pan by stripping it down to the brass. Looks great.

Ok, Here's the reassembly pics...they looked cool when set up like a film strip and flipped through fast on my camera or my computer like we used to do with doodles in the margins of our text books in grade school.
Nice! Like stop frame animation. What I love about these bikes is how the motor is the starting point, and how everything bolts to it. The engine as a load-bearing, stressed member. Progressive design.
I have often thought of doing that and seeing if I could pull it off. there is a video on youtube of a bike building itself, so stinking cool.

Thanks Guys, The Tonti frame design was definetly a well thought out design, makes major repairs relatively easy and is very rigid. I haven't seen the video but I'll look for it when I have time

That right there is probably my favorite phase of a build. Got a roller with the engine in place... really gets my juices flowing!
And Bravo on the co-ordinating the color, (Even in the tire tread?)
I've bought a quart of red for my CB750 "Rock-it" build. But it's sitting on the bench because I have had cold feet on commiting to a red frame. Seeing how great yours looks clinches it for me.

Yeah, I think they look great too. Can't remember what inspired me. I think it was the red lower rails on some of the Le Mans 1000's...just thought why not go all the way with it? Like my kids say..."go big or go home!" Plus I needed something to offset the matte black tins and the blacked out engine and drive line of the "Scura" theme...remember it means dark in Italian. The drag bars in the pics didn't work out with the hand controls so I had to go with clubman bars in the end. Here's the last of the pics from in the garage plus one from Dad's place. Hey Dale...cat's out of the bag now!
