1979 CB650 Carbs - Slow Jets

I did the cardinal sin and I added pod filters to my 1979 CB650 and then cut off the baffles on the exhaust. I found this site (http://www.chinonthetank.com/2010/08/cb650-pod-filters/) that speaks of what the best slow and main jet sizes are. I took the carbs off and I am trying to remove my slow jets, but they are not the screw type and I cant get them removed. I noticed some sites said they were pressed in. Anyone have any advice on how to get these pulled out?

Alternatively, does anyone know of a better set of carbs that fit the 79 CB650? I have heard these cards are pretty bad with pods.

Appreciate any help I can get.

I did... Get a pair of vice grips, and knuckle down on the pressed in jets and they will pop right out. May have to wiggle it a little bit to pull it out.

After dropping in the pods and the new jets the bike was still running a little lean at high rpm. I found these (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Dorman-PCV-Valve-Grommet/_/N-9iy1a?itemIdentifier=102885_696138_2826_) and if you trim them up, you can slid them into the boot of the pod and it shrinks the opening (airflow) from like an inch and a half to 3/4 of an inch. After this the bike ran like a champ.

The link is for a Dorman PCV grommet (#42344), works fantastic.
