Thanks xci.ed6 i'm gonna have to do some homework. My cleaning is going well so far, i did one side, so i dont loose or mix up parts. I know I am getting ahead of myself, but I was curious about a few things. on and suddenlycalm your bikes prety sick!
My ft brake resivoir seems to be deteriorating, are how standard are the lever assemblies. Can any lever work with the caliper, I assume not but would apreciate some guide lines.

thanks mates

On my bike i just replaced the front brake master cylinder with that off of a 2005 ninja 250. The brake line from the ninja even fit PERFECTLY. It stops on a dime and i love that it is an updated part. The price was right too. I only paid 15 dollars on fleabay. But on another note i have my stock master cylinder and before i updated the part i bought a new reservoir and cover. You pay shipping and it's yours.

So I went a semi blind rampage on Tuesday, and I refuse to regret it.
Back to the issue about my stipped bolt,
IMG_8995.jpg
and I also wasnt sure which one was the oil drain bolt. Bigger one on the left or small stripped one in the middle?

the larger one on the side is your drain and xci is right the lower (striped) one houses your oil filter. something you might want to try is tapping a standard 12 point socket on the bolt. i used to do that with everything lug nuts, license plate bolts,...

Suddenlycalm that offer is greatly apreciated, I will let you know. OneWorden im gonna try draining the oil tonight thanks for the tip.
I found an insurance quote that I think im gonna go for. I am realy itching to ride. I dont know how intense im gonna get with the rebuild because I would be using the bike. probaly just be doing little tweeks till winter. We will see. Thanks yall.

So Im finaly plated. The oils changed, new bar and grips, new oil filter/ bolt, carbs cleaned, pods on, screws here and there, new headset bearings, rear pads, and a ft brake light switch. I apreciate the help from my friend Steve who helped me get it running after 3 hours of us wrenching. I needed that extra hand bump starting it down my street among other things. Now its time to start cutting some ish. I would like to cut the fenders a bit and change up the signals and rear light. Lots of cleaning and polishing in the near future, maybe some paint as my throtle cable noodles scratched my tank. We came across an unfortunate air leak though. One of the rubber I guess "carb boots" are slightly cracked, so im getting a bit of combustion comming through there. I have new ones on the way from cycleworld, along with the B return throtle cable (which i found was broken) . Oh and Ontario Cycle salvage came through for me as well. They did the headset, rear pads, switch, saftey and got that stripped bolt off. As I dont have the tools and was anxious to ride. Oh and on my first legal ride this evening, I ran into the meet up at the beaches tim hortons. I was awesome to see so many people sharing the interest. I hope to meet some of yall down there at some point.
