ok, so I went and check out the bike. Found out the the guy is the original owner and he's 90 YEARS OLD! He hasnt ridden the bike since 2008, and he son made him sell the bike. I cant believe an 80 yrs guy was cruising around on this bike.
As for the bike. since the carbs was leaking gas, I brought along starter fluid and spray it in the air filter box and it started right up. Overall the bike is about a 8 out of 10. everything is there, nothing missing, just a little dirty. its has 14k on it. I bought it right there. handed him the cash and he handed me the title. I am probably going to strip it down and make a cafe racer out of it.

Did I miss something here? It runs, it's legal and it's summer and you want to strip it down to a pile of bits? Since you won't be riding this summer., rent it to Von Yinzer for the summer and strip and convert it when it gets cold. I tried...

Seriously though. I'd dump the bags and fairing ( not everyone would, but that's just me) and clean the carbs and ride it all summer while you plan/save/scheme to work out what you will do with it when it turns colder. So you are probably in Cali or somewhere that doesn't get a winter, but you know what I'm saying.

bring it home yet??? If you havent bring it to my house and ill give you another $100 on top of the $500 for it.

Hahaha...this one is a keeper! I am not taking it apart just yet. I just odered a set of carbs rebuilt. My plan is to take off the windshield and bags. rebuilts the carbs, change the oil and spark plugs and see how she run. I still have 4 other projects waiting to get done.

I think Von Yinzer would love you forever if you rented it to him for the summer :p

I would ditch that massive front fairing, it looks far too "big" if you get my drift...
But seriously I think you should hold off on stripping and building till after the summer. I'm only just finishing my bobber build and I'm like a month behind when I wanted to finish it. Blue skies and beautiful sun, its killing me not riding.

Check you carb over flow tubes for cracks on the gas leak. Mine were cracked I cut them out and replaced with new ones

alrite finally got her home. Put one of my other battery on to see if she fire...here's the result on video.

Gotta love the CX. OK, well, you don't really HAVE to, but after a little work she cleans up well.

What's all this talk about "wait until it gets colder"? Start stripping and selling those extra pieces to fund your projects man!
