Rebel With A Cause
Hello from Michigan! I have a few wires on my 650 that I'm having trouble locating where they go. I believe the twin connector goes to the silicone rectifier that is no longer on the bike. But i have no idea where the three wires(one coming from the winker relay) that are apart of the winker relay wiring go to? I've been through the wiring diagram only to get lost in a sea of wires. does anyone know where they go? Any information will be extremely helpful!

Did a little messing around on the bike today, found where that plug went, feel like an idiot but it was under the top frame rail, as well as re wired the winker flasher with the wires that i did not know where they went. I only have one wire misplaced, solid green. %100 sure that it is a ground. The bike will NOT roll over with the starter button pressed and the rear tail light and turn signals do NOT light up when key is turned on. Nor does the neutral light. Anyone have any input?

Took the headlight out because it did NOT turn on. Found two grounds, a solid brown, and a solid black wire not hooked to anything! I got this bike from someone who lost interest in it for dirt cheap, $100! couldn't pass that up. What could these go to within the headlight?

This may help you; it is a scan of the factory service manual:

I have a '79, but those are pretty different from the later cb650s, so I'm not much help otherwise. Good luck with the bike!

I'm missing something from this bike and I can't fiqure out what it could be, between a wiring harness or a component. Anyone have a cb650 I can possibly take a look at? I live near the grand rapids area in Michigan.

I see that on the diagram that it has a silicon rectifier, mine does not have one, thinking I might have to buy a service manual for this bike. Thanks for your help, I'm itching to ride but have no wheels :(

You should have a combined regulator/rectifier unit under the seat area (well, that's where it is on mine). It should be next to the two spark units above the air filter box assembly - it is a black metal unit with cooling fins cast into it and two multi-pin electrical connectors coming out of it.

Yup, already have that.

as for that winker, don't worry about it. it's just an extra ground wire. Use the other two.

In the headlight bucket there is an extra black, green and brown wire that isn't used. They build the same harness for different bikes.

Here's the manual for my 79 model, wiring harness is the same between the two.
