1980 CB750c Brat Project

I posted this in the introduction, but I figured I'd start a project thread as well.

This is my first motorcycle build, so I have a lot to learn. Between this site and the other sites I have been perusing I hope I won't make too many heartbreaking mistakes.

Here are "before" and "current state" pictures of my project. I purchased the bike, with the donor bike (in the background) at the end of September. Plan is to turn it into a brat/scrambler and have it ready to ride next summer. We'll see how it goes.

The bike ran, but only with some blockage in front of the carbs due to no airbox.

I have since done/am doing the following:

-Progressive Spring Rebuild on forks
-Hagons Rear Shocks
-CB750F Rear Wheel/Disc Brake Conversion
-Acquired Powder coated Comstar wheels (cheaper than revamping untrue and rusted spokes)
-Shinko 705 Tires
-Renthal Bars w/ all new levers, grips, and switches
-Had CB900 Carbs rebuilt
-CB900 Cam Swap
-New Sprockets - went to 46T on the back vs 43T stock
-Cut rear subframe and fabricated rear hoop

Still to do:

-4-2-1 Exhaust
-Frame de-tab and coating
-Battery/electronics relocation
-Dyna or CBR Coils
-Seat pan and upholstery
-LED Lights
-Cut down front fender
-Clean and paint tank and motor parts

Any input is more than welcome.

Looking good!

How long did you make the seat hoop? i was thinking somewhere around the axle but yours looks great

I have the same build going on and have never done anything like this before. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see the end results.

The picture was taken when the hoop was 8" long, but I have since cut it down to 6.5" from the frame cut to the back. I think this will look right once I get a license plate holder mounted up.

Good luck with your build as well.

I know this thread is pretty old, but what levers/switches did you use for this? I like the look of those and am looking for something for my 360.
