1980 Honda CM400T
Hello all, I'm a new member but not new to the site, I've found a lot of useful information surfing these forums before signing up. My avatar displays the bike I'm currently concerned with, A CM400T. I've been hunting for oversize pistons in anticipation of a rebuild this winter with no luck, then I came upon an ebay sale for after market CB400T 1mm oversize pistons. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-CB400T-CB400N-HAWK-PISTON-OVERSIZE-1mm-SET-OF-TWO-/130787069009?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e73844c51
The manual I have is for CB/CM400's and there is no distinction shown in the maniual piston wise between these 2 models. Wondering (praying)these pistons might work for this bike?

hey man, i have a 80 cb400t and looking thru my manual , i dont see any difference on the internals (pistons, rods, etc ) between the two . I believe it was mostly looks and possibly the carbs that were the main difference . check this site out discounthondaparts.com hope this helps

Since this is an old post I'm guessing that you've figured out that there is no difference with the internals of the CB and CM engines. In fact there are common parts between the 400 and 450 engines. There are 2 cam shafts for 1978 thru '86, 1 manual and 1 automatic.
