Went to look at a bent 440 over the weekend here in Michigan. I passed on the bike because I wanted a running bike for my son. The deal is this, the bike was all fresh with new tires, K&N air filter, clean and jetted carbs, when it was hit while parked in a parking lot in April of '09. The owner was so pissed that he parked the bike in a barn and hasn't looked at it since, now he wants to sell. Without taking measurements, what appears to be bent for sure, is the forks and possibly the triple trees, I priced these parts on ebay for $40-$50 total. The frame did not appear to be bent, by eyeball. What I do know.........tires(Bridgestone) are like new, engine is free and turns over, owner has brand new dash(speedo, tach) and left hand electrical bar switch. I still think it is a hell of a deal at $350.00 so if anyone is interested let me know and have his phone number, bike is located in SE Michigan near MIS.

Damn, if the neck is square ( sounds like the impact was up front) that's not a bad deal. Last thing I need is another project in the garage tho' Maybe after I get my brother-in-laws bike out of my garage.

Good lookin' out posting it up tho

Yeah I hated to pass on it for the price and condition, but we ended up with a rideable '82 750 LTD. My son is 17 and has the attention span of a gnat, so he needs something he can ride while he transforms it into a bratstyle or street tracker, I swear he must be a male lesbian like me, all he thinks about is females.................LOL
