A friend in Kansas just gave me his old XS 650 "parts bike." He said I could have it if I could find a way to get it back home to Nashville. So I broke it all down and fit it in the back of a Honda Element...along with 4 guitars, road cases, a full size keyboard, stands, and 4 suitcases. We felt like badasses all 750 miles. So now I have to decide which route to take with this thing. I have no clue why it is a parts bike and I'll try to post pictures as I go.

so you guys think i should chop the hell out of it? i found a guy on craigslist in clarksville (about an hour away) with a chopped frame with mags (my bad boy has spokes). see, i kinda wanna build this and take it across the country to visit the iron and resin folks. for that ride, a hard tail would be...well...hard.

the other issue is that of title. i have a friend in ga that i could "sell" the bike to and have him register it, then "sell" it back to me to register in tennessee. anybody done that?

That's how I got my CB400F. Title, two frames, two engines, and almost everything I needed to get it on the road.

Gotta ride a hardtail across the country while you still can, so you can say you did it when you're old and grey and telling tall tales to kids cruising around on their cushy bikes ;)

HA! I'll be able to tell my kids about it if the ride itself doesn't kill me.
