1981 Honda CM200T build. Yes one of those rare CM200T builds

So I went out and bought a CM200T. I thought, "hey there's an older 200cc Honda chain drive I can turn into a cafe racer (turns out I'm making a brat)." Of course I didn't realize that the CM200T is not a very popular model. Google it and you'll see that there are very few builds and most are pretty ugly (sorry if you're one of the guys that pops up on a google search). Now I'm not saying that what I will be doing is anything great, but thus far I'd say my budget build is turning out pretty nice. Yes, sorry but this is a budget build. My intentions here are to build a minor custom. I'm actually almost done and I'll be updating this build log with pics in the next couple of days. As soon as the upholsterer gets me my seat it will be done, I'll sell it, and move on to the next project. So here is how it looked stock:

OK so here are some updates on how she looks now:

Junk removed from the center and cleaned up, rewired, and brackets fabricated.

Ballistic battery is working like a charm. All my brackets cleaned up this area real nice.

Made a quick little license plate bracket here

Crankcase filter

Only filter I could find that would work on this bike without frame modification. Its from a pit bike or scooter (got it on ebay)

I just finished my 1982 CM200T cafe build and can't get my running tail light to work. I've gone over the schematics and pulled the wiring and it doesn't light, the only time i lights is when I turn the key to parking lights but that shouldn't be the only time that light runs. I should be ok now because I'm not planning on riding at night and I can just use the excuse that I leave it off during the day, but seriously, did you run into this problem? I saw the picture of your tail light running when you key was on so I'm scratching my head again.
