1982 CB450t budget build

Thanks fresh_c! I actually picked up some ultra grey today after checking out everything that Autozone had, didn't want to use it though til I got some feedback from the folks on here.

Wouldn't have had a chance today anyway as I spent the day at Brit Jam, motorcycle show in Connecticut put on by the British Iron Association, here are a few pics...

My parents went to the show as well, they ended up buying this little mini bike for my son, after getting it home and cleaning up the carbs we had it running, made his day...

Re: 1982 CB450t budget build - Need help identifying this...

So it appears that the master cylinder on the bike is not stock as the rebuild kit I bought doesn't work. Does anyone recognize this master cylinder and know what type of bike it might be from.

Hoping to buy the proper rebuild kit and finish this bike up before the end of summer. Or if someone has a master cylinder they want to sell let me know.

Luckily I have a running bike so I can still get out and ride. Snapped a pic from a ride the other night.

My cousin came down on his bike, a custom 1970s CB750 he hardtailed.

Thanks for any insight...

Update: Duhhhh didn't notice Fresh_c had already put in a link.

Thanks you guys nailed it. Just wish I had realized that it wasn't the stock one before buying the rebuild kit, that'll end up costing me more than a new one . Before I pick it up I'm gonna see if I can get a used one locally, we'll see.

Quick updates:

Installed the rocker arm assembly and got the motor in the engine.

Got the covers on as well.

Also got the front forks squared away...

Is it just me or is it a pain in the ass to get the valve cover back on? Do I need to remove the ignition coil and CDI? Or loosen them so I can spin up those hooks for the plug wires? Just seems like it should be easier to get on and off.

The bike is looking good man. You should chick some clip ons onto that mini bike it has cafe potential for sure!!

Pics and updates:

Got the chain back on. Cleaned up the headers and threw those back on as well. Cleaned the carburetor and semi-polished the covers and float bowls then reassembled and put back on the bike. I guess it would be more accurate to say that I wrestled it back into the bike, what a pain in the ass. I had the same trouble with my KZ550. Am I doing something wrong or is it just difficult to reinstall the carbs when you keep the stock airbox?

Re: 1982 CB450t budget build - Shorty mufflers???

Also the exhaust on there now came from the previous owner, its a chopped and welded back together KZ440 muffler. Thinking about getting the 12" Shorty mufflers from DCC, they seem to be the least expensive pipe I can find. Anyone have any experience with those have thoughts on whether they'd recommend them? Or another exhaust set up they'd recommend. Thanks!

Harley Sportster mufflers. They are hands down the cheapest, highest quality pipes you can buy, and they sound great.

Re: 1982 CB450t budget build - Misfire, why???

Well a buddy helped me drag the bike out of the basement and into the daylight. Got it up and running on Sunday with the POS mufflers that were on the bike when I bought it. I need to get some new mufflers, maybe some shortys or sportster mufflers if I can find some at a reasonable price.

The left side seems to be misfiring and every so often the bike will backfire. I tried switching the leads from the coils and am still getting the same misfire. I guess I could try switching the plugs. Anything else I should look at? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

Some pics, still a work in progress...
