1982 CM450e Engine Tick

Hi everybody,

I'm new to the forum, but I've been browsing the build threads for quite a while. I'm trying to figure out if my engine will be ok to move forward with the rest of the bike or if it needs some investigative tearing down.

I got this bike from a guy who hadn't started it in years, and before tearing it down for a build, I thought I would give it a go to see if it runs. After doing an oil change, new plugs, new battery and making a temporary gas tank I hit the starter and it started up immediately. Needless to say, I was really surprised, but then I started hearing this clicking noise. I took a video of the engine running so you all can hear it, and hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on it for me.

My experience is all on cars, so motorcycles are new for me. Hopefully this is just a normal sound of this engine.... Fingers crossed (but expecting the worst).

The motors will click a little, but it sounds like you should adjust the valves. They sound loose.

Hard to tell from vidoe, as the sounds are not really what a human ear would here as, but you won't go wrong checking them anyway.
