1982 Honda CB900 Custom Cafe WIRING HELP (blending Honda harnes/Suzuki switches)

Ok, As some of you have read, I am building a cafe bike. I am at the point of wiring and installing my engine. My dilemma is this: I am using the hand controls from a (I believe) 1983 Suzuki GS 650 and I cannot figure out how to meld the Honda wiring harness (complete harness) with the light switch. The reasoning for this is .....the light switch. I wanted the ability to turn my headlamp on/off (or possibly using it to control ALL lights for a "stealth" mode.). Honda runs a constant headlamp. Suzuki has a Hl/Lo beam with a On/Off switch. I found and printed a nice schematic for the CB900C, but I CANNOT find a Suzuki wiring schematic. The only control on the clubman bars that is Honda is the dual cable throttle. I am using the round master cylinder, clutch control and light switch from the Suzuki. So, Does anyone know how I can get a wiring schematic for the Suzuki controls? I am also using the Suzuki headlight bucket and installing a "halo" lamp with a cover (looks like a Mercedes-Benz emblem) and blue dot. (it looks cooler than it sounds LOL)

As I was told, and the parts I ordered for the Suzuki were for a 1983 GS650. I do not know any other info about the switch/bucket other than it has a hi/lo, on/off light controls, directionals, and horn.

Look for a 1980 and earlier wiring diagram for that switch. I think 1980 was the last year for Suzuki to use that type of switch, but they used it in multiple models. Have you looked on the GSResources?

If you can't find it, let me know. I may be able to dig something up......

Take it apart and trace which wires go to which switches, Then confirm which wire the switch makes or breaks. Should only take you an hour or so. You know which wires are which on the honda side so you should be able to match up the wires needed.

I have not checked that site. I will head there now. I did dis-assemble the switch and I made my own diagram. I need to figure out what wire to tap into for the main headlight lead. In thinking (it has been a while since I wired a bike), the on/off switch takes the hot lead, then jumps to the hi/lo switch....so, I should take the Honda constant power, tap there, then that should work......I am just a tad bit apprehensive to do this, as I only have 1 switch and I don't want to lose it. I love the idea of turning the headlight on/off. I think I may use the switch for its intended purpose and run a separate toggle switch to control the "other" lights for stealth mode. I may do this tonite or tomorrow. It is quite chilly in the shop (gonna hit 20's here in Florida). Oh hell, maybe I will just leather it up. LOL! I really appreciate you guys' help.

Is a member on the GSResources. Plenty of wiring diagrams.

Suzuki use orange instead of black for 12v 'live'
Black with white tracer is ground, connect to green on Honda
The basic wire colours stay the same no matter what size/year
I have a list somewhere, haven't used it for a couple of years though
Luckily, almost all manufacturers use red as an unswitched live (from battery to main switch)
They all use different colours after switch though.
