1983 Honda CB550 Nighthawk

So I purchased myself an 83' Honda CB550 with the dreams of turning it into a cafe racer. Well after doing the research (I have to confess that it was after I purchased the bike), I haven't found any cafe style CB550's in that year. I have seen plenty of bobbers but no racers...did I buy the wrong bike?

Also, does anyone know of a shop in the Charlotte area (or somewhere in Connecticut) that would be able to assist me with this project?

With enough work (and money) you can turn any bike into a "cafe". The bike you picked up is peppy and reliable. Shave some weight off of it and upgrade the suspension and you're well on your way. At the end of the day, it comes down to what you want as a final product.

do you know of any websites where I can pick up parts? As I am not a skilled craftsman I can't do any of the work myself and would need to find a shop.

Can't help you with a shop... But there are dozens of places to buy parts. Depends on what you're looking for though.
