Everyone says they really hate to sell the item they are posting and this true here as well.
For sale is my 1984 Langlitz Columbia leather jacket sized 48. I am the second owner of this jacket which I purchased from the original owner in 1993 in Portland. It was in wonderful shape then and it is still in wonderful shape now.
The jacket has two outside hand pockets, one arm pocket and two inside chest pockets. All zippers are original, heavy duty and fully functional. All of the snaps are original and fully functional.
The leather is, of course, their traditional heavy weight. There are no rips, tears or unsightly blemishes on the leather. It is supple (as much as a heavy weight leather jacket can be) and soft. It has not dried out anywhere. The lining is completely intact; there are no rips or tears anywhere either. This jacket is completely worked in and completely intact.
As you can see the jacket lacks belt loops and epaulets but all the zippers have the original leather tabs which are intact.
Although the jacket is marked as a size 48, there is a fair bit of flexibility in the waist as the side straps can cinch in the jacket about 4-5". I am 5' 9", weigh approx 190 lbs, and have a 37-38" waist. With the side gathers fully extended, as they are now, it fits just fine. If your wear a jacket that fits somewhere from a largish large to an XL, you will find a comfortable fit.
This jacket comes from a smoke free household. I am selling because I live on Canada's west coast where heavy duty leather jackets are just becoming an increasingly less used item - at least in my world. It will keep you warm on a cold day but those cold days are often accompanied by lots of rain, so leather is kind of useless. In the summer it will keep you comfortable on long high speed rides but it often just gets too warm to wear in town or short jaunts as well. So last year I wore it perhaps 3 or 4 times and it's been like that for the last few seasons.
This is the legendary leather motorcycle jacket that changed everything in the 50s. For those who live the café lifestyle, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more authentic design. And you'll probably not find one in as magnificent a condition and age all that often. These things go for crazy money on eBay, especially the larger sizes like this one. I don't want to dick around with an auction if you've followed them on eBay, I think my asking price of $500 plus shipping is not all that out of line.
