So my deal with the '77 R100s fell through but upon research I grew fond of BMW bikes. I found this R100r shortly after and it seems like a good deal. He is asking $5k but I managed to talk it down to $3k.

The main thing I want to ask is.... Is the R100r a good bike to cafe?

If it is, is this bike worth $3k?

And lastly, how much would I be looking to spend for the conversion?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I'm dying for a bike but I'm willing to wait for the perfect one. Let me know guys! Thanks!

your obsession is very understandable my friend, i would say go for it. they dont make true air heads anymore, and the r100s was one of the last models and most advanced. They have held their value very well and ive seen them 5k-8k for a cherry. if its that nice i wouldn't want to hack it up and cafe, they are basicly cafed from stock, just bolt on some clubmans and your good. I have an R75/5 that i have modified alot but it was a mess when i got it and its actually more expensive to restore than cafe. anyways good luck
