1992 GSF400 Bandit Carb Issues

Quick update - until I can get this thing running well based on OEM specs, I'm going to yank the Dynojet kit, replace with OEM needles, springs and jets and see what happens at stock specifications.

I have an o-ring kit coming as well from Thailand. What tipped me toward doing this is that I discovered that my slide springs were cut to be super weak, which probably contributed to the chatter in the slides. There should be about 38-39 windings and mine were cut to about 34 making a substantially shorter and weaker spring.

From what i can remember from my buddys bandit, he had some little rubber restrictors over one of the jets in each carb (i dont remember if it was idle or main) and i remember him saying this was shown in his manual. Maybe look into that restrictor? I remember him removing them and the bike ran awful until he put them back in. Just going from memory here, maybe someone else could elaborate?

This is correct. It's a plug over the pilot jet that keeps the fuel from flowing right to the pilot jet. Instead, it forces fuel through the main jet where it's then diverted through a bridge in the carb housing back to the pilot circuit. Don't ask me why it does that, but those plugs are in good shape and all in the right spot. Good call.
