2 questions, rear brake and airbox issue cb350f

yo, so i think i may have installed my rear brake shoes backwards. The rear brake pedal can be fully depressed with little effect on the speed of the vehicle, however if i try to roll it backwards it sticks... I just want to run that by you experts and see if thats even possible to do. Thanks and also this may be a sillyish question but i cant get the airbox boots on my carbs from where they are. Pulling them forward either wants to pull it from the filter or pull the boots off the box which is starting to happen. So question number 2 is, is it possible for the airbox to shrink or warp and cause that problem? Any advice wonderfully appreciated thanks.

1. Photo? Doesn't make sense to me that rolling it backwards would make them stick, but I'll defer to others on that.
2. Yes, the airboxes on those things can age, get stiff, lose their shape, etc. Those (and the CB400F airboxes) are pains in the ass to get out of the frame or out of the way to get the carbs off. Wintergreen oil can make the rubber boots more supple, but dunno about the hard plastic of the airbox -- maybe some heat from a hair dryer?

Alright thanks. Btw i mean that with the rear brake applied it sticks going backwards. Thats still confusing but i guess ill pull the wheel off tomorrow and flip the shoes and see what happens. I feel like thats gotta be it. Guess I'll look for a new airbox. I dont think any amount of heat is gonna stretch that thing out properly. Im short like 2 inches.

Wait a sec: going backwards the brake works properly, but going forward it doesn't work at all?

If your airbox is too far gone, might want to consider going with pods. Some pods don't require rejetting but only minor tweaks to fuel/air mixture on those bikes (also dep. on your exhaust).

I had a cb350f for a while with pod filters on it. I don't think I would recommend them on the bike. They were bad about created a vortex inside the pods. The air/fuel mix would get all messed up on windy days. It was common for me to fiddle with the choke while I was driving on that bike. If I were to do that bike over, I would have left the stock filter system on it.

As far as the brake system issue, I'm having a hard time visualizing the issue. Maybe some pictures would help me troubleshoot your problem. I don't remember there being any issues with my rear brakes, even after replacing the pads. I had to mess with the adjustment screw some to get it to where it felt like I liked it but it wasn't bad.
