Having trouble taking the cover off my bike. It's the one on the exhaust side, in front of the sprocket cover. I took all of the cover bolts out but it won't come off. Anyone know if I'm missing something?

STOP!!! you need to take the rocker boxes off first. the cover supports the cams. the are under alot of pressure from the valves. the cover can be removed with out taken the rocker boxes off but is not worth it. i have seen the bushings crack from people doing it that way.

You just saved this guy from a world of head aches....

I would suggest getting a manual and refresh yourself on your stock machine before you go too much further.

I've seen alot of these bikes with the cover cut down. It looks better. I guess I could just do it on the bike.

Man... I'm not trying to be mean. But, you really need to get a manual. So, you can happily go about your way modifying and cutting on it. With a clear and educated conscience, ya know what I'm saying. And also, I am not trying to steer you away from this board. because there is a lot of knowledge here. But you might want to go check out the Jockey Journal too. Cutting down your cover is covered over and over on that board.

I love Cafe'd Sporty's by the way! Just dont want to see something shitty happen.

yeah you dont want to cut it down on the bike. You dont want to chance cuttin the oil pump or any wires. Takeing the rockers off is not that huge of a deal but you Louie is right get a service man. its like 50bucks and worth every penny if your going to be doing all the work on your bike.
