Hi, guys!

I am in the middle of a project and wanted to poll the group...sorta. I haven't started a build thread yet. But in the garage is an 836cc CB750 w/ CycleX cam, CR carbs (on the way), 2" extended swingarm...and some other bits...no real work has been done other than building a pile of parts, though.

Some of you have fitted bikes with a 21" rear hoop. I am in the process of doing the same. I am hoping to get some ideas of ways to avoid any pitfalls. And to get an idea of general aesthetic...

Can you guys post pics of these bikes, if you have them? ...or if you know of links, point them out?

Thanks fellas!

of course...Rat Fink did it. That crazy effing rat...

I'm just going to keep this short and one; ask why, and two; say its not a good idea unless you're building a full custom (hardtailed?) frame.

Its been done...so a philosophical discussion wasn't what I was looking for...just pics of guy's bikes that have done it. Thanks!

That looks like you would like some philosophy...guess you didn't mean it. Aesthetically, it isn't pleasing to the eye..

Puttin' 23's on the front maybe?

I would guess that you'll find more pics at chopcult or a similar site. Not a lot of huge chops here.

No disrespect. I know there is a lot of knowledge here.

I'm used to guys saying something won't look good. Then I do it...and pull it off looking awesome...IMHO. Hense why I just asked for pics...not opinions...of the concept. I can't really police the likes and dislikes of the forum as a whole...I just know what I think looks good.

I don't want to debate the idea...just see the results of other's attempts, which I know to exist...and NOT on a hard tail. I guess, the best inclination I can offer in the way of style would be "board tracker"...but that I use loosely.

I think 21" front and rear would look sweet.
Thats just me.

He wants pictures, not opinions....Doesn't look like 21's on your avatar either 8) :) :)

Not my ad, but this (non-hardtailed) Ironhead has been up on PHX CL for a while now; 21's front and rear:

Yeah yeah yeah :-X

They are both 18's

i have 18's front and back on my current ride. And the narrow minded few said that was an odd deviation from the 19/18 norm.

midlife - eff off. and stop hyjacking my thread. You want to grand stand...start your own thread...

And full disclosure, I have an '80 XL500s sitting in the corner that I will eventually get to. I confess, from time to time I look at it and ponder duplicating the 23" front on the rear. Don't know if that will happen, but it has crossed my mind.

I found this one and i love this bike....but i don't love the 21 used on this bike. But there are stance changes I'd make...that would help that tire . it'll ride low...not in that sport bike stance...

I also have plans for a different exhaust that will tie the back tire in better.

How many 21" rear tires are available? And I wouldn't recommend using a front tire for the rear. Good luck with your donk bike.
