360 project...need help/advice on carbs

I am getting to the point of putting the engine back together on my '74 CB 360, and I am wondering what to do. I have 2 cylinders (1 which has been bored to 3mm oversize to go with along with a piston ring set) and another stock cylinder with a stock piston/ring set. Given the trouble I've read about people getting the carbs right, I've been thinking lately about trying to find a reasonhable 32mm mikuni kit and run the stock cylinder...at least for now. Does anyone have this kit? Are those carbs a big improvement over the stock Keihins? Should I go ahead and build it with the bored cylinder and try to find someone to tune it? I'm lost on this one and know very little about carbs...HELP!!! Also, the lowest price I've seen for the Mikuni kit is about $300 plus shipping. Is that the best deal out there? Thanks, guys,

Matt

well. the 360 cabs arent HARD to jet in, its just a little time consuming. ive had to go through 4 diffrent size jets, and i still dont have the right ones. and also not to mention the goddamn i dont know how your bike will run with a 3mm overbore.... why didnt you just bore each cyl? seems a bit strange why you didnt..... just makes everything a little easier. the only thing with the mikunis is that you will have to find a new way to wire up your kill switch, and whatever the hell is on that side of the controls somewhere on the bike. not that hard, but could lead to other problems, shorts etc. I rode a 360 last year that was bored up and mikuni kit, ran like a bat out of hell, granted the thing was set up for small cc dirt track. if you got the money really, and the knowhow, you could make it work.

sorry...to clarify, I have 2 SETS of cylinders...one set which has been bored and one which is still stock. Thanks for the help,

Matt

I acquired a MAC 2 into 1 exhaust and have pod filters for the carbs. Someone sold me a set of "push in" 115 main jets and said that they'd do the trick, but I haven't really messed with it yet...was trying to do the frame mods/get the seat sorted out first. Now I just wanna get it back together and ride. Where did you acquire the 112 jets from? Thanks,

Matt

p.s. how'd it run with the 378 kit?

Thanks so much for the replies, guys. I think I'll go with the larger cylinder/ piston setup and purchase some 112 main jets...sounds like fun!!! 8). PJ, do you run hotter plugs on your bike? Thanks,

Matt
