I'm getting quotes of $3000+ for my 72' CB350. I'm 22, M2 with safety course. No prior motorcycle insurance.

Anybody else have this issue?

I knew it was going to be high but i thought like $1300 high. Over $3000 is nuts.

Any ideas?

Woahhh.. Granted we aren't in the same country.. but I'm paying like $250 a year or something stupid like that for the BMW.

What country are you in? I am in the USA and I pay $90 for the entire year for state required liability, full coverage would be no more than $450. And I did not take the class. YET.

Any ideas?

Are you sure they didn't quote you for "collectors insurance" or "antique insurance"? If so, that would be a reason. I'm paying 190/year for liability on my 750 at 28 years old in Florida.

Progressive $130 yr. & I up'd the coverage close if not to max amounts. 44 years old

There's a few Canadians around.

And there is a huge difference between the US and Canada as far as insurance goes. It really is "apples and oranges".

Like I wrote in your other thread, get your M2 and sit it out for a year then ask Jevco again. There's really no way around it unless you want to take your chances and ride without insurance.

I pay literally $9.00 a month, full coverage with Nationwide for my 83 GR650. Not trying to brag but, it's pretty damn awesome.

Okay folks, we're talking Ontario, Canada insurance. American insurance rates have no relevance to this discussion.

Depends on who you are talking to. I think it's interesting to see the differences between U.S. and Canadian insurance rates. Also, it's interesting that it's expensive in Canada. Makes ya wonder.

Free health insurance isn't actually free..........at least that's my understanding of it.

And who's more likely to get hurt than somebody on a 40 year old murdercycle........I mean, motorcycle.

I won't even begin to explain why Ontario insurance is so astronomically high, there are many factors. It's an extremely motorcycle-unfriendly place due to high insurance, traffic laws, climate, motorists' attitude and poor driving skills. If you're getting ridiculous quotes, it's their way of saying, "we don't want to insure you".

That's sad that has to be the way it is up there. Especially with the increase in fuel costs these days.
