Been Around the Block
Well, I didn't buy any of them. But. I did visit his place as he only lives 10 minutes from my parent's farm. I spent three or four hours chilling out with the guy.
AMAZING collection.
He has a totally mint NSR400, a totally mint RZ500, a totally mint RZ350, an almost mint TZR250 (I had never even heard of one before). He also had four or five RZ350s in various stages of completion, THREE RZ500s in boxes (one has my name on it now), a gorgeous RGV250 (I had no idea they had such wide back tires.. its like a liter bike with a small engine), a second TZR250 being restored.
It was a dream come true. Ex-military guy. Super nice and very willing to talk about the bikes.
He also had a couple of 4 strokes... but who wants to talk about that?
I didn't buy any bikes from him (yet) though I am going to get one of the RZ500s from him before the end of the summer. I would have loved the NSR400... it was a museum piece. Best part.... 5 of them were insured and on the road including the NSR and RZ500. He just picks whichever bike he feels like and rides.
