Hi guys..
been hunting around here for a few weeks, figured I should throw my project up here .
I bought this 68 a few weeks ago with the plan of wrenching on this during the the so called winter here in southern california ...
here are the pics of the day I bought it , and a day or two later once I got into ripping it apart

took in my heads , cam case, top cover and barrels to the machine shop.. they will be bead blasting everything , doing head job and honing cylinders.. also ordered all my motor parts from bore tech.. KA slipper tsubaki cam chain, all new seals and gasket set in the mail

What are you doing with the bottom 1/2 of the engine?

I'm going to be doing the same to my XS engine (for the first time) and am looking for all sorts of ideas on having it blasted (soda, bead, vapor) etc.

Tim I can't recommend soda blasting enough. I use it all of the time for parts. Doesn't cause an etched surface, but makes everything as clean as a whistle, and its cheap. Harbor freight sells 40 lb bags of soda and I just blast it down with a siphon gun. When it rains, it just disappears from the ground, environmentally friendly. I want to pick up another small blast cabinet for soda specific blasting. Works great. Especially on carbs and motor bits. Vapor blasting is awesome, but man its expensive.

I want to get the lower half soda blasted, but cant find anyone to do it in my area..which is mind boggling to me!! I live in southern california.. and no one does soda here :(
