You should stick that in the mod thread.

I actually will add it in there in a couple days - plus I'll take better before and after pics. But the during process will use the same old cell pics.

I love the bargain innovations this board comes up with. Great job.

Thanks man - I am one cheap SOB!

No, not cheap, resourceful. ;)

Been a really long time since I've updated this (at least it feels like it) but I have been getting some small things done here and there. Let me start out by saying the blue-ish plastic covering the air filters is actually clear - the blue part is just to protect it from scratches while I'm working on everything else!

Twisted the kick start because it kept hitting me in the knees - so now it's a hand start

Got the brake light switch mounted and adjusted
IMGP2747.jpg

New tool tray welded, painted, and mounted
IMGP2749.jpg

Here's the EMGO shorty muffler that I cut in half and welded in my own baffles (with some pipes welded on the ends too)

And just an overall shot of the left side - painted the exhaust black (still gonna wrap them), heat shield blasted, mufflers mounted up, etc.....

Thanks guys. About those covers - I like the thought of the open frame under the seat but I don't want gusts of wind and/or water blowing right onto the filters. So the clear is kind of a compromise. I could get some light blue window tint and either do the whole thing or just a small logo or something though....

Yeah, on that blue tint thing, you should use it in some way that both clear and blue are shown, its so different and outside of the norm I think you should excentuate it. You can also run up to an auto parts place and get some of the door trim stuff in black. They make some of it in a nice looking small black trim that would look good around the edge of it. We used some on the seat and tank of Alex's Dolores. That will make it a nice clean factory looking edge. Then you could tint it all in blue but leave a ring just inside of the black clear and cut out a number in clear, like a number plate. SICK!

I like this idea...... Twisted, you're my hero!

No, I am no hero, I am just a dude full of ideas, most of them are bad, but every once in a while, out comes a brilliant one....or at least a some what good one....ok,ok, an alright one, but at least it is not another bad one!

I am also good at creating run-on sentences! ^

Lookin' good man! You riding it yet??

Also, do you have the same problem with the 175 where the frame gets in the way of pod filters? What are you running there, velocity stacks? Did I miss the page on that? If so let me know and I'll go back and have a look. One other thing what are you running for main jet size?

That frame is always in the way! Yeah, Twisted is right - Rock Band drum legs. A section of the aluminum has almost the exact same I.D. as the carb intakes. It actually is a couple pages back though...... can't remember where. The 1st generation drumset sucked a big one so everybody threw them away!

As far as the main jet goes, I plan on getting some Mikuni's so I am not committing any $ to the intake. No new floats, jets, o-rings, nothing. If you look close enough, you can even see my crummy foam filters are zip-tied to the tubes!!
