Looks great! The seat must weigh a ton now. Sorry youve gotten stuck sanding, hahahaha....

yeah, too bad there aren't any friends or significant others around to give you a hand with the sanding....wait....didn't mean to call anybody out there... :D :D

that seat looks like a giant bum stop cake. I want to eat it if it's buttercream icing!

of course it's buttercream! that's my favorite!

and yes, it's just awful that i don't have any yinzers to do all of my work for me.

are you using a dual action palm sander? if not, I recommend it. It will make your life SO much easier! they are great for knocking down rough bondo and even for some finish sanding.

i'm actually hand sanding, the bondo is sanding down really easily. maybe i'll try out the da sander.. i thought it might take too much off

if you use the right grit and set the right speed, you shouldn't have a problem. I usually start with 80 grit to knock the rough stuff down, then 150, then 220. After that I hand sand. Saves a lot of time. Just have to be careful.

DA is the way to go, I use one for all my sanding, rough sanding all the way to finish! I even use it for wet sanding, but it is kinda hard to find a really fine grit paper for the DA sometimes. I have some 1500 grit for the DA right now, so that does a pretty good finish job for most stuff. When it comes to the final sanding of clear coat though, I have to go to the hand sanding with some 2000grit.

I have to say, that seat does appear heavy with all that filler! WOW, you really CAKED that shit on there......hmmm...buttercream...

check out the trizac system for DA sanders for finish wet sanding. It goes from 800 all the way up to 3500 grit.

PERFECT.....I have been looking for something like that!
Thanks!

so, the other day i noticed my landlord had broken one of the guage mounts on my triple tree, i believe it must have happened when he moved the frame/forks to the ground from the table it was sitting on prior to primer (moved for no apparent reason). after painting it, kiles and i were talking about how it is now in the "don't fuck with me" stage.. well, i just ran out to get some more of that self-etching goodness, and i come home to this..

"what is happening?" you ask.. well, my landlord is CHANGING A FUCKING TIRE IN MY PAINT BAY. for some reason, he has left. so his van is just sitting there, lifted with no wheel. what do i do?

already done.. moving at the end of the month..

wow, fuck that guy... you pay for a bay, right? If that were the case and if you were planning on staying, Id tell him that youre deducting paint and labor costs from your rent check since you will have to repaint the bike after he decided to invade your space and tamper with your project.

What an asshole.

This answers the why he is being a dick, he will not be getting rent from you anymore. That sucks, I hope your paint was dry enough on the frame to prevent shit from sticking to it. What a dick. At least you won't be there to have to put up with this after the end of the month but I would make sure you ahve all your tools and things packed up and ready to move so they don't get up and walk away before you are gone. To bad about the landllord but the Green is nice!

Knock the van off the jack and leave, come back and say "wow, how did that happen, I was out buying primer."
