so i have obtained a 1977 2 stroke suzuki ts 250. it runs a 6V electrical system. it starts and runs like a gem. my indicators work but are dim. i tried my headlight but with no prevail. both filaments seem intact in the bulb, i tested the battery with my multimeter and its only reading 3.5 over the batery and i tried conecting thelight straight up to the battery but nothing. i have never had a bike with this type of system so not quite sure.
do i need to replace the battery or could it be something else? it appears to be the original battery. bulb etc?

Not too sure on that particular bike, but a lot of the older 6v bikes had a separate charging circuit for the lights / accessories to the ignition / spark circuit. So, while the bike may run well, the charging system for the battery may need fixing.

What is the voltage reading at the battery when the bike is running? You should see around 7v at the battery if the charging system is working properly and the battery is serviceable.
