Here i have a 71 bonneville 650, or reffered to as a t120R . The back story on it is , my grandpa was a triumph fanatic.... Every two or three years he bought a new one and kept the old one for about a decade he did this in the seventies along with collecting various triumph parts and frames along the way.
So when he got put in a nursing home several years ago he decided to give his completed bikes to family. My dad received a 73 trident, my youngest uncle a custom triumph chopper, and oldest uncle a 74 bonneville 750. And me a 71 650, im the only grand kid with a motorcycle enthusiasim so he thought it fitting.
When i got the bike it had 12k on it , was in good shape for sitting for 20+ years without being moved and i had it running in a weekend and idlign decent.
Well i decided it left alot to be wanted in a bike and the only way to get it clean like i wanted was ....... complete resto ......
heres how it sat for almost two years , just a powdercoated frame and tore down on my bench.
