Re: 71 CB350 - the Supernaut - New stuff...

Dude Mikes are nothing. I was wondering how long some of my eyebrow hairs were recently, so i measured a few..... 2 inches mostly..... quite a few of those.

I now brush them up and give em pride of place.

Re: 71 CB350 - the Supernaut - New stuff...

Can't get away with it here, girlfriend trims em in my sleep.

Re: 71 CB350 - the Supernaut - New stuff...

My wife told me before she would WAX mine in my sleep if they got that bad.

Then I would have one waxed brow. And lack of sleep.

Re: 71 CB350 - the Supernaut - New stuff...

Goggles would cover those bad boys right up. Also, don't wake up my dog with those pipes. LOL

Re: 71 CB350 - the Supernaut - New stuff...

Well, the 'Naut is officialy insured. Plates comin as soon as I get my papers. Jeez, I better finish the bastard up now...

Re: 71 CB350 - the Supernaut - New stuff...

I didn't even think of the insurance - who'd you go through? My wife could have helped with that

Re: 71 CB350 - the Supernaut - New stuff...

Ok...

The bike is pretty much completely wired. The chain is installed. The seat is done. The front end has been rebuilt and installed. A proper kill switch has been installed. My 350 tank is effed up unfortunatly. Fortunatly though, I have another tank that you all may recognize. It will get a repaint here at some point but I dont have time before Troys. If all goes as planned Ill fire the bike up and maybe run her around the block today. Fingers crossed. I wont be riding to Troys but hopefully should be able to ride back. ;)

Hit play first... Set the mood. :'(

Marcha funebre - Chopin

Seems as if the 'Naut decided it was no longer willing to go on... He has shed his mortal coil. But we can rebuild. There is a Type 1 motor that hopefully will gladly take his place. Speaking of which, anyone have the valve specs for a 68 CL350 motor? Lemme know if ya do... Thanks.

Re: 71 CB350 - the Supernaut... is dead... For real. Not BTC dead, really dead..

i've got 'em buddy. gimme a call and i'll give you any info you need. and if you need parts, i may be able to help with that too.

valve stem clearance service limit- intake 0.0032 in., 0.08 mm. exhaust 0.0035 inches, 0.09 mm

valve stem service limits- intake 0.2738 in, 6.95 mm. exhaust 0.2730 in, 6.93 mm

valve face width- standard 0.039-0.051 in, 1.0-1.3 mm. service limit 0.08 in, 2.0 mm

valve spring free length- outer 1.88 in, 47.8 mm. inner 1.55 in, 39.3 mm

Thanks Go. Are the tappet clearances the same between the 71's and 68's? I can't find any decent info while I'm on my phone. Since the 68 is in my garage, I'm going to do a cold compression test in the morning.

Von, I'm sure you already know this, but all the necessary parts (cylinders, pistons, points plate, etc.) will interchange between the 2 motors. So as long as your cylinders aren't screwed and the 68 motor is in decent shape, we should have you rocking 138 in the 724 before Friday.

Re: 71 CB350 - the Supernaut... is dead... For real. Not BTC dead, really dead..

yep, they should be the same

Not entirely sure what went down. Havent started tearing things apart yet. The trans is locked up. Will not shift higher than 2nd. Blowing tons of oil from 1 cyl. And just generaly runs like shit. (Thats a technical term...)
