72 CB 100 in need of carb advice

First post, been a long time reader. I've got a honda cb100 with a keihin 22mm round slide carb. This bike sat in a field for probably close to 20 years so the carb was in need of a cleaning.

I managed to get the stock carb pretty clean, I replaced the jets, fiddled with the needle, the float and admittedly I am not pleased with how it is running. I adjusted the points, cam chain tension and the rocker arms. I have a few options lined up but would like a more experienced opinion. I am a suzuki and old vw man.... So carbs and jetting adjustments are not taboo for me, but with a honda 100 four stroke everything is new.

I am thinking of replacing the carb with a brand new mikuni 24mm. I can make the jetting work (mainly I can find jets locally or even online other than thailand). I figure I will start around the stock size and adjust after some riding, 38 or so pilot and ~100 main, I think it needs a smaller pilot and larger main based on how my bike currently runs but the carb could be to blame. So here are my questions if I replace the keihin with a mikuni;

Round slide or flat slide?

Intake manifolds, suggestions for both above options?

Jetting suggestions for both suggestions above?

Thanks in advance!

Did you ever figure this out? My keihin has a crack in the main jet tube, so it's needing to be replaced. I'd really dig the smooth action of the flat slide if I can make it work.
