The motor is running well, but there is a small leak out of one of the gaskets. I definitely need to replace it. The compression is good on both sides, so I probably won't go too deep into the motor beyond that. Just clean up the outside a bit.
I would go even finer with the grit and hit it with some water at the same time. Also, are you using different compounds on the buffing wheel? What are you using on the wheel? Do you have a Dremel tool?
Got to love it when you get home from work and one of these is waiting at your front door! It's my first order from DCC. I know there will be plenty more since there are quite a few items in the "wish list".
Got some drag bars, front and rear wheel bearings and fork seals. May have to do the forks this weekend. Bearings will have to wait till hubs are coated.
Been a loooong time since my last post. Work has been crazy and other stuff is taking up my weekends.
Finally got some things back from powder coated. Rims are done, plus some misc. other parts. Really like how the triple trees turned out. The are the color I'm going with for the frame (once I get it done). It is called hammered pewter. Also got the polishing work done on the hubs and forks. Going to try and lace the wheels up tonight. I will take them to someone for final Truing. I don't have anything to true them up.
So after about 2 hours or so I got the wheels laced up. It would have been a bit shorter, but I inserted all the front spokes into the rear hubs to begin with. Ugh! .
