'72 CB350 oil leak from lower crank case/left side cover

Hi all,

Ive been running my '72 CB350 this summer and it's developed a bad oil leak from what appears to be the seam between the lower crank case and the left side crank case cover. Also, at the same time the leak started it's been increasingly difficult to get it into and out of gears... Any suggestions???

Need to find out exactly where its coming from. Could be the gasket around the cover or the oil seal around the output shaft.

Take the clutch cover off and scrub everything down. Run the bike for a little bit and see if you can tell where it's coming from

Thanks Rich. That's what I was thinking, with as much oil that's leaking, I figured the source would be more obvious. Tonight I'm going to pull the cover and see what's up. I'm hoping it's just the gasket, but luckily if it's the out put shaft I should be able to get what I need tomorrow when I'll be near a supplier that has just about everything!
