Haven't been on the bike in about 2 weeks (working overnights and normally a zombie afterwards)

On my way into work this afternoon and my CB450 loses powere big time and all of a sudden ????
I have a feeling that I am down a cylender and I haven't had the time to try and look into it appart from making sure the caps and wires were pushed down and making contact with the plug.

Any one have any suggestions where to start ?

Can't wait to chug home on my CB 212.5 tonight :-\

Check the points and timing. If the contacts on the points are worn that could do it or if the timing is out. Also make sure its not fuel related. Clogged petcock screen or carb jets. Other then that check the spark plug wires and make sure the caps are screwing in to some good copper. You can cut them back a bit to be sure.

thanks DJ, never would have thought the petcock. Come to think of it I don't think I have a fuel filter...........hmmmmmmmm.

I had the same thing happen a couple of weeks ago, one cylinder disappeared for about 10-20 seconds but came back and nothing since.

I'm ditching the plugs and going to give the battery a full charge tonight, tomorrow checking the points (I want to ditch them so bad) and the petcock.

There's a screen in the peacock that acts as a filter. It can get clogged from time to time. Also, Pamco makes an electronic ignition for your bike I believe. Go to www.cb750ignition.com and take a look. I have one on my 350 and love it.

It was an issue with a plug, last night on the way home I could feel it wanting to come back a fefw times. Gapped a new set and boom goes the dynamite !

thanks for all the ideas !!!!
