Re: Rachels 72, CL100, the Piglet

95 degrees and full sun dried the epoxy hard and fast. Installed the rack this morning and the new brake cable, from re-mx was a perfect match. 8)

I know all this was to be saved for this winter. But,...

shes such a fun little cutie pie. I cant keep my hands off her. I cant wait for the new fender! ::)

a couple quick snap shots before loading her to run down and show her to Uncle John.

Looks great! I know some guys that cut and make vinyl stickers. Let me know if you don't find someone out your way.

"Piglet", received highest AWARD

My cool old Uncle John, (the man that bought her, back in 1972)

I received the ULTIMATE REWARD today.

Giving her the thumbs up. :) He loved seeing the bike. We had a great time going through the build thread and visiting.

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

Nice! I need that rack to hold all the tools I want to bring on my ride tomorrow. Do you think you could get small panniers on it with the CL's high pipe?

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

Funny you brought that up. I was looking at the tobacco card post earlier. And how a lot of the old bikes had them. Rachel is gonna make a custom seat cover from scratch this winter. I told her a couple matching bags for the rack would be cool.

Also, now considering to make a small rear fender mounted rack for my 360. I think it would be very fitting to the styling of the early machines.

Not to mention I already got the fender for it. 8) Bags wouldnt work for it. Unless I wanted to cook my lunch in there.

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

LOL but to answer your question.

Yep the pipe dont even come close, 12 inches or so. The thing is the signals. Limit bags to about 4 inches deep or so. without hiding them.

A bag 4 deep x 8 long x 2-3 inches wide would fit very comfy. 2 of them would probably hold every metric tool I own w room for gloves.

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

That bike looks great. I'm not sure how I feel about the fender rack. Maybe it'd work for light stuff that's relatively vibration-proof, but I'd be afraid the unsprung weight up front would seriously mess up handling.

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

Yeah, until I iron out the kinks on the CL, I feel like I'm going to want to go ATTATT.

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

A small "rear" fender mounted rack on my 360 wouldnt be for nothing besides the looks of it. ;)

not one on the front fender.

I have no idea what ATTATT means...lol?

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, sorry, I totally misunderstood- that would make sense. The fenders on that bike really look sharp.

I just made it up per our discussion. It means, All The Tools, All The Time. A wise philosophy when you have a bike like mine.

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

HA, perfect. Yes ATTATT! my new motto. ;)

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

After talking w iatethepeach last night I decided to make a little beer rack for the 360 this morning.

came out half assed decent.

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

Are you MIG welding without a nozzle? I assume you're not using gas. You can get a rubber tip so that it won't ground out when it touches the work piece.

Re: "Piglet", receives highest AWARD

Thanks bud, gonna have to get her out in the sun and get a pic of the finished job. here after bit. I just now woke up...my noon nap. ::)
