72 Cl350 dies when roll off of throttle

Been Around the Block
Like the title says, my 1972 cl350 is finally at the point that I can test ride it and after letting it warm up it idles fine between 1000 and 1500 rpm but when I get going in first or second and grab the clutch and roll off the throttle, about half the time it dies. The setup is pretty standard with the exception of pod filters. Any suggestions/questions? Thanks for the help!

I kinda have the came prob with my 1970 cb175....Haven't really messed with it to much yet, but I'm thinking it has to do with the coils!

Sounds like they are firing on one cylinder. Latenight: since you only have 1 coil, check for spark on each side. If you have a weak spark, it's most likely in your boot, plug, or wire.
Fluke: you'll have a little more to check. Of course check for spark at each plug, but if you have a problem still, it would be in the above plus the coil, points, condesor, etc.

Also, both of you make sure that you are getting enough gas. A single dirty carb not passing gas would cause that problem as well. Oh yeah, and valves.

Rich,
I THINK I'm firing on both cylinders, the benefit of CL's pipes are that there are two right on top of them, and in fact, thats how they tell you to sync them, put your hand behind them and do it by feel. When it idles, it kicks from both of them and pretty equally. I haven't had a chance to mess with it the past few days, but i'm definitely gonna run down the basics like plugs and such. Any other ideas, i'm all ears.

thanks

I only rode the bike around the block, but i let it idle for a few minutes before i rode. My goal originally was making sure i liked the clipon/rearset locations and make sure that i wasn't going to grab the brake and either not stop or hop over the bars. Then i noticed this this happening. I guess when I was letting it warm up, it idled fine and would throttle up fine too, but really, i'll have to check on that again to see for sure.
