Re: 72' CL350 "KILLING MACHINE"

my brother just happened to snap these this weekend so i thought i'd throw them up here. I'll have better pictures next weekend. I have some cool things to show everyone.

Re: 72' CL350 "KILLING MACHINE"

this is a fun build to follow! cant wait to see the end result. 2 thumbs up!

Re: 72' CL350 "KILLING MACHINE"

exhaust is done and getting picked up tomorrow. hopefully, the best pictures EVER to follow.

Re: 72' CL350 "KILLING MACHINE"

If you dont mind me asking, how does that Acewell gauge work? Because the stock speedo and tach were mechanically driven. Just curious, becasue I want to run a similar set up on my CL350.

Re: 72' CL350 "KILLING MACHINE"

the bike sits in my fathers garage, an hour away from where i sit typing this. last time I was there I was making a template for a heat shield. before i could even take a picture i had to drive back to my house because of an emergency  turned out to be a false alarm. but two hour round trips commutes and false alarms don't mix. I want pictures of this thing more than anyone. the exhaust is finished and looks great, just need said heat shield.

I'm not sure how the gauge works yet, when I start it up it seems to read the rpms pretty accurately. i haven't had it down the road yet.

like the front tire the rear is a kenda challenger the rear is a 120 front is 100. they are the same tires kanticoy has on gretta if i'm not mistaken.

Re: 72' CL350 "KILLING MACHINE"

well it's super crappy picture time. but you get the idea.

here is what the exhaust looks like. the guy made a hanger for the shock mount, and did a really nice job. I'll probably either paint it black, drill a bunch of holes through it, or both.

Here you can see the bracket my dad designed to mount the gauge sensor. very nice, and functional. the sensor you can see is counter sunk and epoxied onto the flat on the gold portion of the rotor, right in spec with the guidelines in the instructions. we'll see how that works later.

Now I'm playing around with designs for a heat shield; I'm trying to do something a little different. I kinda like this, however, I'm gonna mirror my template so it follows the direction of both the back of my seat and the angle of the frame in the picture. not sure, only worried about it not being rigid enough and getting all bent out of shape.

Re: 72' CL350 "KILLING MACHINE"

I love this build. The engine color is great. Can't wait to see the seat finished, one thing at a time though, right? I'm not too sure about the pipes gong onto a chrome single muffler. it looks good, but I think it would look much better with individual mufflers.

Re: 72' CL350 "KILLING MACHINE"

found some time to take some pictures. boy was it nice out today in Detroit.

Re: 72' CL350 "KILLING MACHINE"

Looks great! Really coming together well, and I for one dig the 2-1 high pipes! ;D

I have the same pitting problem with the top fork bolts, I'd bondo them up and paint em black, that might look sharp.

Looking forward to whats coming next!
