73 cb500 four cafe style seat for two?

I've seen alot of bikes with a long low seat where they could fit a passenger but my bike has the bracket that holds the rear fender. It would have to be cut off to make a long thin seat like i want. Anyone done this give me some advice?

I cut mine off my CB500 and CB550.

I haven't done it yet on my bikes, but you should make sure you replace the fender stay with some kind of bracing behind the shocks. A flat bar welded across ought to work (so long as your tire won't hit it), or a hoop like this:

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any pics of how yours turned out?

See the link in my profile to the CB550. You can see how I tried to keep the fender stay at first but the seat didn't turn out as good with the stock seat pan, then later you can see that it's much better after I cut it off and made a new seat.
