74 CB360 deglazing front rotor

My front breaks started to squeal like a pig. Came on suddenly after riding in the rain. The rotor looks like it is glazed, so I'm looking for some advice on the best practices for de-glazing. I'd prefer not pull the caliper off just yet, but if doing just the rotor is not good enough then I'll pop it off and also go at the pads.

BTW any other CB360'rs heading to the Mods and Rockers gathering in Toronto tomorrow?

Cheers and thanks,
Peter

get some wet-dry 80 grit and just spin the wheel and hand sand a cross hatchy looking pattern using dish-soapy water
clean and rinse well especially the caliper in the pad area
give that a try if that is not doing it pull the pads and de-glaze them

dont use aerosol brake cleaners, its a common cause of glazing, use acetone or MEK. The above method will work, I prefer to glass bead rotors myself.

Thanks for tip. Worked like a charm. I also adjusted the caliper position using the bolt with the spring on it as per manual, not sure it was set wrong though to begin with.

Nice and quiet now.

Cheers
